Hello! My name is Tiahna Braddy and I have been teaching at the Co-Op since October of 2024!
I moved here from Central Florida where I have lived most of my life. I went to Polk State College originally for nursing in 2019, before moving to Jacksonville in 2021 and earning my AA degree at Florida State College at Jacksonville in 2023. I then was accepted into their Bachelor’s Program for Early Childhood Education. I unfortunately did have to move away from Jacksonville pretty unexpectedly in the spring of 2023 and have two more semesters to complete before I officially have my Bachelor’s degree. During my time in both Central Florida and Jacksonville I completed multiple internships including a second-grade class and two-year old classroom. I also have been employed as a substitute teacher for both Duval and Polk County Florida for grades K-12.
Before college, I attended a visual/performing arts high school called Harrison School of the Arts and then transferred to a public high school to finish out my education so I could have a more balanced school/sports/work life. From being an Alto section leader in Honor Choir all of high school, and performing in musical theater to taking college level photography, 2-D and 3-D art courses. On top of my love for all things art, I also was loved to be a part of any club/team that I could. I was involved in softball, volleyball, weightlifting, swim and dive, student council, and I was even the school mascot my senior year!
I have two sweet cats, Evie and Toph, who are my entire world! I also enjoy being outside in nature. Whether it is walking along the river, or hiking on a trail, I love learning about different species of plants and insects! My favorite thing about being outside is looking up at the moon, specifically under the stars on a nice clear night.
I am extremely passionate about helping our future generations reach their highest potential. It is so important that every child is given an equal and equitable opportunity to be the absolute best versions of themselves and it is up to us to help them get there! Each child in this world is deserving of a safe, caring, and comfortable space to learn and grown and I am so grateful to be a part of that every single day! The Co-Op is such a wonderful place that nurtures children’s natural creativity and curiosity for the world around them.
